TOPIC: Make God's Love Your Aim
Text : 1 Cor 14 : 1
EAGERLY PURSUE and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest];....(Amp)
Let your aim and motive for doing everything be the God kind of love.
Remember that God is love.
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. GOD IS LOVE, and he who abides in love abides in God and God in him. (1 John 4 : 16)
Since God is love, making the love of God your aim and motive is making God your aim and motive.
If God is your aim and motive for saying and doing all things, then whatever you say or do will surely succeed because
whatever is born of God overcomes the world..... (1 John 5 : 4)
And we know that God is love. Therefore, we can paraphrase this verse to read thus:
WHATSOEVER IS BORN OF LOVE has overcome the world....
This implies that :
- Every vision that is born of love has overcome the world.
- Every idea that is born of love has overcome the world.
- Every decision-making that is born of love has overcome the world.
- Every plan that is born of love has overcome the world
- Every leading that has its foundation on the God kind of love has overcome the world
- Every project that is based on love has overcome the world
Making the love of God your strong basis and foundation for doing all things, is making God your basis and foundation for doing all things.
Learning to build your life on the God kind of love is building your life on God. It is building your life on solid rock, a very sure foundation that can never fail.
Make the love of God your aim, your motive, and the driving force behind every decision that you make. As you learn to practice this principle always, you will surely become more successful in life.
